Incorrect Information in Newsday’s Budget Guide - May 17, 2024

Please note, in the upcoming Newsday Budget Guide, arriving in homes on Sunday, May 19, it incorrectly states that Proposition No. 2 seeks approval to spend $2,515,000 from Capital Reserve funds for capital construction projects at Smithtown High School East. The correct total the district is seeking authorization to spend is $2,513,000.

Additionally, two voting locations were omitted in the voter guide. Voting will take place at the following locations:

  • Smithtown Elementary School: 51 Lawrence Ave., Smithtown
  • Nesconset Elementary School: 29 Gibbs Pond Rd., Nesconset
  • St. James Elementary School: 580 Lake Ave., St. James
  • Accompsett Elementary School: 1 Lincoln St., Smithtown

For all information regarding the proposed budget, please visit the budget page of our website. Voting will take place on Tuesday, May 21, from 6 a.m.-9 p.m.
