Budget Information - Workshops and Presentations

The development of the spending plan for the upcoming 2023-2024 budget is well underway. Key dates are listed below.

The following is the upcoming public budget workshop schedule:

February 14, 2023: Budget Workshop #1: Basic Fiscal Overview of District Finances and Proposed Non-Instructional Budget

March 7, 2023: Budget Workshop #2: Proposed Instructional Budget

March 21, 2023: Budget Workshop #3: Employee Benefits, Revenue Budget, & Superintendent's Final Proposed Budget

All budget workshops will begin at 7:00 pm in the auditorium of 26 New York Avenue (District Office / Central Administration).  

Additionally, the Public Hearing on the Proposed Budget is scheduled for May 9, 2023 at 8:00 pm, also in the New York Avenue auditorium.  

Additional budget information will be available on the District website throughout the budget development process. 

The Annual School Budget Vote and Election will be held on May 16, 2023. 

Candidate Information
  • Petitions to become a candidate for the Board of Education must be submitted to the District Clerk by April 17, 2023.
  • Smithtown School Board candidates run for a specific seat for a term of three years commencing July 1, 2023.
  • The seats whose terms expire this year are Matthew Gribbin, Jerry Martusciello, John Savoretti
