Family and Consumer Sciences

The Family and Consumer Sciences Department offers a variety of courses that enable a student to succeed in their personal and professional lives. As part of the Career and Technical Education department (CTE), we give students the life skills needed to manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse global 21st century society. Our department is dedicated to ensuring all students learn how to think critically, solve problems and make informative and knowledgeable decisions in all aspects of their lives. With our middle school and high school programs, we encourage an appreciation of each individual throughout the life cycle. Each course provides a forum for practical applications of basic knowledge, which incorporates reading comprehension, mathematical concepts, oral communication and written communication.
