For the first time in Smithtown history, a little league team won the state title! This past weekend our St. James-Smithtown Little League Softball team from the 11 and under age group competed and won the Little League NY State Championship in Rochester. The team beat New City Little League to win the title. Of the 12 girls on the team, 10 attend school in the Smithtown Central School district. This is the first time any team in Smithtown, baseball or softball, won the little league NY state title.
