Smithtown East joined the global movement Hour of Code this week, as students learned and engaged their computer science skills.
Hosted by HSE Media Specialist T.A. Morgan Homan, students participated during lunch periods to celebrate the art of coding and programming.
In addition, our special guest "Marty the Robot" joined us to demonstrate coding techniques and the implementation of codes. This hands-on experience coding Marty to move, talk, and dance allowed the students to visually see the codes being created in action!
Hour of Code presents an opportunity for beginner and advanced coders to design, collaborate, and problem-solve fun tutorials provided through code.org. The Hour of Code event ignites curiosity and sparks a lifelong love for technology.
