District Wide Safety Plan 2026-2027

The District-Wide School Safety Plan provides for the safety, health and security of both students and staff and is part of a comprehensive planning effort that addresses risk reduction and prevention, response and recovery with respect to a variety of emergencies that may occur at the District. The District-Wide School Safety Plan is required by law to be made available for public comment prior to its adoption. The District encourages the public to review the District-Wide School Safety Plan.

If you have any questions or feedback on the District-Wide School Safety Plan ,please submit it to securityquestions@smithtown.k12.ny.us by July 27, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. In addition, the Board of Education will hold a Public Hearing at the Joseph M. Barton Building, 26 New York Avenue, Smithtown, New York on August 11, 2026 at 3:00pm regarding revisions to the District-Wide School Safety Plan. During the public hearing, school personnel, parents, students and any other interested parties will be given the opportunity to participate and be heard.
