Since last year's "College Day" was such a success, Great Hollow Middle School administrators brought it back again on Tuesday, with an added bonus!
Representatives from Hofstra, LIU and Adelphi were on hand to speak to students and answer any questions they may have about college education.
Staff and students were encouraged to wear their college gear to school. Teachers were also asked to take five-ten minutes speaking with their classes about their college experience. Some teachers went even further and tied in their entire lesson around College Day, including Mrs. Roberts' math classes.
The Great Hollow staff created a bulletin board including photos from their college years and information regarding each staff member's college experience.
The focus of College Day was to generate interest and excitement around attending college one day in the future.
Mission accomplished!
