Trade/Union Career Fair a success
The Guidance Department, Career and Technical Education Department, and the Industry Advisory Board recently hosted a Trade/Union Career Fair at High School West.
This fair provided students the chance to learn more about apprenticeships and training programs as well as career opportunities in the military and law enforcement.
The event started with a video from Assemblyman Durso supporting the trades followed by a keynote speech from Senator Mario Mattera. After the keynote speech, families engaged in a panel discussion with representatives from Local 200, Suffolk Community College, and the Dept of Labor.
Students spent the remainder of the evening visiting all the tables to meet representatives from their fields of interest.
