Tackan students visit Sweetbriar Nature Center
A Madagascar hissing cockroach, a box turtle, a Bearded lizard and a chicken were just some of nature's finest that Tackan Elementary first graders got to see this week when they visited Sweetbriar Nature Center.
Students are learning about animal adaptations in their current Geodes and PLTW Units. At Sweetbriar, they were able to learn about other animals’ adaptations. Other activities included digging for fossils as paleontologists and a brief stroll through the rainforest.
