Tackan students see the light!

Light is used to communicate and send messages every day. Everyday crosswalk signs, lighthouses, traffic lights, and so many more help to send messages to people all around.
Sound helps us communicate through speech and non-verbal cues like tone of voice, allows for communication over distances, and alerts us to important information through sounds like alarms and signals.
At Tackan, 1st grade students in Mrs. Batterberry’s class designed and tested a device to communicate across a distance using light or sound.
It was a hands-on engineering activity aligned with science standards for exploring sound and technology.
