Super scientists at West!
A big congratulations to High School West students Liana Cheng and Jacey Lin for an outstanding achievement!
The talented twosome was part of a group which earned 2nd place in the Microbiology category at the New York State Science and Engineering Fair, competing against more than 400 students from across the state.
Their impressive research began over the summer at Hofstra University in the Izquierdo Lab, where they explored how novel bacterial species impact wheat plant growth—an innovative study that could help identify sustainable alternatives to traditional fertilizers.
