Congratulations are in order for several Smithtown High School East seniors who have received awards for their various activities.

Gianna Todaro & Isabella Leighley - NYS Attorney General Triple "C" Award - Letitia James
This award from the Office of the State Attorney General, Letitia James recognizes students who have demonstrated character, courage and commitment in their classrooms and their communities.

Nicolette Mullady - NYS Comptroller Award for Academic Excellence & Citizenship - Thomas DiNapoli
New York State Comptroller, Thomas P. DiNapoli is given to a student to a student who has demonstrated academic excellence and citizenship through their involvement in activities that improve the school and/or community.

Amira Abdallah - Suffolk County Executive Public Service Award - Ed Romaine
The Suffolk County Executive Public Service Award recognizes students from each high school who have combined their academic successes with a commitment to their community.
Gianna Todaro - New York Blood Service Award
The NY Blood Services Scholarship was developed to recognize high school students who organized school and community blood drives. Blood donated at local high schools each year accounts for up to 15 percent of donated blood on Long Island. Many countless hours go into the organization and implementation of this activity. Gianna earned a $500 scholarship.
Student Building Bridges Award - Suffolk County JCRC
Aadil Khohkar, Jake Rindfleish, & Avery Yang
This award celebrates students who are working to create a more civil society. They were nominated by their Social Studies teachers for their volunteering, building ties across different communities, and working on intergenerational projects.

Olivia Bozzo - Office of the Attorney General Civic Ambassador Award
This award will be given to one student from each school who has demonstrated a passion and knowledge for civics and government. I strongly believe that recognition from educators, parents, and other mentors can build enthusiasm for learning as well as a desire to persevere, study, and thrive. It will truly be a privilege to acknowledge your students this year for their achievements, whether it be academic success, community service, peer leadership, or overcoming personal obstacles.

Cole Schmideler - NYS Comptroller Award for Academic Excellence & Citizenship
New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli's office presents this award to a student who has demonstrated academic excellence and citizenship through their involvement in activities that improve the school and/or community.
