Shark dissection at AES

June 2, 2025

Mrs. Hennessy’s fourth grade class at Accompsett Elementary received some expert education Monday on the evolution of fish from Pam Lynch, school parent and professor of Marine Biology at Suffolk Community College.

With daughter Avangeline, a 9th grader at High School West by her side, and daughter Liliana alongside her classmates, Lynch brought in three different fish to explain the lineage to the students. Students were shown how the Agnatha, the Chondrichthyes and the Osteichth fish changed over time.

Avangeline assisted in the cutting so all fish were pre-cut for our fourth graders.
