Serving Up Long Island History

Smithtown High School East and Smithtown High School West took their volleyball rivalry outside on Monday, August 31, for the first-ever official outdoor high school volleyball match on Long Island! Held at High School East, the project was months in the making.

"Our East girls coach, George Alamia came to me with this proposal," said SCSD Director of Athletics, Jason Lambert. "Took a lot of meetings, community support, and it finally came to fruition. It exceeded expectations, I didn't know it would look this good!"

High School West senior, Logan Singleton, says he was blown away by the court. "I had no idea this was possible."

"It looks super cool," said High School East senior, Brianna Cerullo. "It's amazing our program was able to do this for us."
