Congratulations are in order for the Great Hollow Middle School 7th grade girls soccer team for earning the Smithtown Booster Club's Fall Scholar Athlete award!
The team had the highest GPA of any team at Great Hollow, with a 3.89 average.
Head coach Maggie Shanley says the girls deserve kudos for balancing sports and schoolwork.
“I could not be more proud of them I know how hard they work…we only had 14 girls and still had an amazing season. I can’t imagine a more deserving team for this award.”
Great Hollow Middle School Principal John Scomillio, Assistant Principals Peter Russo and John Macaluso, Booster Club President Dave Miller and SCSD Athletic Director Jason Lambert were among those on hand this morning for the presentation.
Principal Scomillio also commended the parents in attendance, for helping their children manage time between schoolwork and athletics.
