SEL clubs step up for our bus drivers

Smithtown Elementary was filled with gratitude Thursday morning as the Pay It Forward and SEL Cares clubs—led by instructional specialist Christine Pitrelli—joined forces with Mrs. Bombolevicz’s Safety Patrol to host a heartwarming Bus Driver Appreciation Breakfast.

Students performed spirited cheers and reading poetry to honor the drivers who safely transport them each day. The entire school showed its appreciation by wearing yellow, while students delivered handmade cards filled with thanks and kind messages.

With generous support from the PTA, the celebration also included thoughtfully prepared “treat boxes” packed with goodies, well wishes, and tokens of appreciation. Students helped assemble and wrap each box, with a special delivery team set to surprise drivers later in the day.
