The first Smithtown IAB meeting is in the books, as IAB Student Ambassadors, industry members, and faculty/administrators met at High School West to set IAB goals for the 2025-2026 year.
Throughout the meeting, students represented all three areas of CTE (Business, Technology, and Family & Consumer Sciences), where they spoke on behalf of all the programs offered, the IAB Committees and the impact/importance the IAB members are to them and their future.
IAB Executive Director, Phil Como, and SCSD Director of Career and Education, Christine LoFrese, delivered opening remarks as the students networked and collaborated with our industry members.
Smithtown IAB Committees include: Hospitality and Event Planning, School of Business, STEM/Robotics and Professional Women's Careers.
The next meeting will be the Business Olympics Mentor Workshop, held on October, 16. This year's Business Olympics theme is called, "Back to the Future," as student teams are tasked with creating a marketing campaign for a currently defunct company.
