SCSD Middle Schoolers celebrate America's birthday

With just 30 days remaining until America celebrates its 250th birthday, Smithtown Central School District middle school students took part in a meaningful and memorable lesson honoring the nation’s founding.
On June 4th, students engaged in a hands-on reenactment of history by signing a copy of the Declaration of Independence using quill pens. The activity allowed students to step back in time and experience, in a small but powerful way, the historic moment that gave birth to the United States of America.
The lesson combined historical learning with an interactive experience designed to deepen students’ understanding of the significance of the nation’s founding document and the ideals it represents.
