Tackan Elementary School students welcomed in family members on Friday from the Suffolk Nassau and New York City Police Departments as part of Tackan’s “Police Appreciation Day.”
Officers visited students in all grades and discussed lessons in stranger danger and life as a police officer. As always, our young learners had plenty of questions for the men and women who serve and protect!
Among the visitors was SCPD Officer Pollett, the brother of 5th grade teacher,
Megan Pollett, and police K9 Socha, a labrador retriever.
Next week is National Police Week, and all SCSD schools will hold various events to thank the members of law enforcement who are in our community.
