Dogwood Elementary School Principal Renee Carpenter once again led a wonderful Police Appreciation Day event on Thursday, which as one officer stated, has become “his favorite day of the year.”
Law enforcement officers who are parents, guardians and siblings of Dogwood students were thanked for their service and dedication.
“We are incredibly proud to have members of our community who work in law enforcement, and I am honored to have the chance to express our deepest gratitude for their service,” Carptenter exclaimed.
“Whether they are patrolling the streets, investigating crimes, or engaging with our community, their efforts do not go unnoticed.”
The entire school honored those who have or are currently serving by waving flags, singing songs, reciting poems and presenting cards of appreciation and thanks. Dogwood leadership students even put together "patrol snack bags!"
Special thanks to the Dogwood PTA which provided breakfast for the officers prior to the assembly.
