Parade of Champions at Board of Education meeting
Last night many of our spring season sports champions were honored at the SCSD Board of Education meeting.
In front of VERY proud family and community members, the following teams were recognized:

Smithtown East Boys Lacrosse:
The Smithtown High School East boys varsity lacrosse team finished the season with an overall record of 15-4. The team won the Suffolk County Class B County Championship and appeared in the Long Island Championship where they fell by one goal to eventual State Champions, Manhasset High School.

Smithtown West Girls Lacrosse
The High School West girls lacrosse team reached their 4th straight county championship. The team was led by nine seniors, eight in which will continue their lacrosse careers at the collegiate level!

SCSD Girls Flag Football:
The Smithtown Girls Flag Football team ended the regular season 7- 5, making the playoffs for the first time and defeating Ward Melville for the program’s first ever playoff victory.

Smithtown East Baseball:
The Smithtown East Varsity Baseball team put together one of the most memorable seasons in program history concluding the year with an outstanding 20-3 overall record. Individually, Dylan Cogliano was named the recipient of the Paul Gibson Award as Suffolk County’s top pitcher, becoming the first Smithtown East player to ever receive the honor, since records show the award began in 1997.

Smithtown West Boys Tennis:
The High School West boys tennis team won the elite eight award for the best eight in the county, finished undefeated while Head Coach Dan Ketcham earned Coach of the Year honors.
“Overall, this is clearly the best team Smithtown as ever fielded,” said Head Coach Dan Ketcham. “Congratulations to the Guduru brothers, Ishaanth & Sreeyanth for reaching the county final in doubles and competing in the NYSPHSAA Championships at the USTA Center in Flushing!”
