"No One Eats Alone" speaker visits Great Hollow

January 15, 2026

Nationally recognized speaker David Flood visited Great Hollow Middle School on Thursday to support the initiative, “No One Eats Alone.”

As the father of a child with special needs and a longtime volunteer in hospice care and youth advocacy organizations, Mr. Flood speaks to students across the country about empathy, respect, inclusion, belonging, and making healthy choices related to drugs, alcohol, and addiction.

Organizations such as Sandy Hook Promise and Beyond Differences lead No One Eats Alone Day to encourage students to reach out to peers who may feel isolated, fostering empathy and a sense of belonging through meaningful activities.

The goal of the No One Eats Alone initiative is to create an inclusive lunchtime environment where students are encouraged to sit with, talk to, and get to know peers they may not normally interact with. Students are empowered to make room at the table, start conversations, and fill empty seats.
