Navigating the Digital Age
SCSD families gained valuable insight into the evolving digital landscape during a special Parent University presentation at High School East’s Little Theater on Wednesday, March 18.
“We’re in an era where we don’t know the long-term consequences of these digital platforms,” shared NYU expert and Smithtown parent Dr. Marie A. Bragg.
Dr. Bragg led an engaging and informative discussion on the realities of social media, gaming, and the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. She highlighted how viral challenges can place children at risk and examined the ways tech platforms can amplify those dangers. Drawing on her research into social media and its impact on children’s health and well-being, she offered practical guidance for families navigating today’s digital world.
Thank you, Dr. Bragg, for providing parents with the knowledge and tools needed to better understand online risks and support their children’s mental health and safety.
