"Mural Makers" making a difference!

Accompsett Elementary students are proving that creativity can change the world—one paw print at a time.

Members of the school’s Mural Makers Club have created a vibrant collection of pet portraits, inspired by the bold, colorful style of pop artist Dean Russo. This weekend, their artwork will be delivered to the Brookhaven Animal Shelter, where it will brighten the space for both visitors and furry residents alike.

Each portrait holds a special purpose: the artwork will be displayed in the shelter and sent home with the dogs once they are adopted—giving families not just a new pet, but a meaningful keepsake created with care.
