Moving Up!

“Set goals and strive to reach them. Learn from your mistakes, but most importantly, be kind to others.”

Those were the inspiring words shared by Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur as he addressed Accompsett Elementary’s fifth graders during their Moving Up Ceremony on Monday morning.

Held at High School West, the celebration marked an important milestone as students prepared to begin their middle school journey. Accompsett Principal Tim Hellmuth reflected on the many memories, achievements, and special moments the Class of 2026 has experienced throughout their elementary years.

Drawing inspiration from the New York Knicks’ recent NBA Championship run, Mr. Hellmuth shared a quote from Finals MVP Jalen Brunson: “My confidence comes from my work ethic.”

“Hard work and dedication pay off,” he reminded students as they looked ahead to their next chapter.
