This summer, 16 students from Smithtown West and Smithtown East participated in the 2025 EF Global Youth Leadership Summit in Berlin, Germany.
Mrs. Culloton and Ms. DiDonato led the students on a 10 day adventure including the 3 day summit in Berlin and a tour of Lisbon, Dresden, Berlin, Munich and Nuremberg. Jimmy Flynn, a junior at West, was a finalist for the Innovation Group Project. All of the students worked in small groups from around the world under the theme of “Future Readiness in a Changing World”. Students also toured an innovation lab and the Volkswagen and BMW Factories to continue the Innovation Theme of the trip.
Mrs. Culloton proudly exclaimed, “Our Smithtown Students were absolutely outstanding at every turn of this trip. They made new friends from around the world, engaged in thoughtful discussions about our world’s ever evolving landscape, and learned to expect the unexpected……all while seeing the beauty of Europe!”
