Smithtown High School East recently hosted its annual Research Symposium and Awards night. Celebrated were research students and their posters, and the departing seniors who presented their work in the Little Theatre. The keynote speaker was aluma Erika Nemeth who is a third year student in a dual MD/PhD program at Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai. White lab coats were presented to students who completed the four-year sequence of PLTW, and departmental science awards were presented by science director Dr. Stephanie O'Brien. It was a fantastic night of science!
