“This is the first time this concert has been performed at Tackan in over 30 years.”
Those were the words of Tackan Elementary School Principal Matthew Fury on Tuesday as he introduced the Fourth Grade Winter performance. Previously, instrument instructions had begun in fifth grade. But this year, fourth graders in band, orchestra and chorus put on a joint concert. The students had been practicing for months in preparation for the show. Some of the songs performed were “Beyond the Sea” from the movie Finding Nemo, “Better When I’m Dancing” from The Peanuts movie, The Dreidel Song and Hot Cross Buns.
