High School East and West give back to SCPD
In honor of Police Appreciation Week, High School East and High School West staff, parents, administrators and Co Curricular clubs were able to donate more than 300 gift bags and baskets to our local 4th Precinct.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
National Police Week occurs every May.
High School West Assistant Principal Michael Freiberg says "We were very proud to give to such a great cause. Thank you from High School West!"
High School East Assistant Principal Nicole Stech added, "We are so proud to give back to those who serve and protect our community."
