Happy Valentines Day from FAST

The Smithtown High School West FAST Program shared the love this week with its annual Valentine’s Cupid Café!

Held at High School West and Tackan Elementary School, this festive event has become a cherished Valentine’s Day tradition. The pop-up café features a variety of freshly prepared items, all organized and created by student members of the FAST program.

“As a FAST family, we take care of one another, and our reach goes beyond my classroom and program,” said FAST Program Work Study Coordinator Jillian Otero.

Every item on the menu is made from scratch by students. From chips and salsa to charcuterie boards, Caesar salads and wraps, to crumb cakes, cupcakes topped with homemade whipped cream, brownies, donuts, and even fair-style lemonade squeezed fresh at your table.

In addition to spreading Valentine’s cheer, funds raised from the Tackan Elementary café will be used to purchase a bench in memory of Jacque LaPrarie and Claudia Chandler, beloved P.E. teacher and art teacher at Tackan, courtesy of the FAST crew.
