Habitat For Humanity students make an impact
High School East’s Habitat for Humanity Club recently took part in a meaningful Student Build in Wyandanch, where students worked side-by-side with professional construction crews. They took on hands-on, physically demanding tasks such as framing windows and doors and installing hurricane straps, showing focus, teamwork, and determination throughout the day.
Their effort and positive attitude stood out, earning high praise from the construction team. Advisors Mrs. Rodgers and Mr. Cone, who joined and supported the students on site, were especially proud to see their hard work and commitment in action.
This opportunity was earned through months of dedication—students completed service hours by volunteering at school events, supporting donation drives, and helping with fundraisers like Spooky Hallways and the Club Fair. Their participation in the build made the experience even more rewarding, knowing their efforts directly contributed to earning this life-changing opportunity.
Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit dedicated to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, serving communities across all 50 states and around the world.
