Growing Green Thumbs at SJE!
Thanks to the generous support of the ReWild Grant, St. James Elementary School’s native garden is transforming outdoor learning into an exciting, hands-on experience! Led by STEM Specialist Brian Cusati and Reading Teacher Ashley Shea, the garden club invites second-and third-grade students to explore the wonders of nature.
From watching seeds awaken in spring to observing pollinators among the blooms and collecting seeds in autumn, students discover the interconnectedness of our ecosystem. Through hands-on care, including weeding, mulching and sustainable watering, they develop a sense of responsibility for their garden while cultivating a lifelong love of gardening and the environment.
