Growing Greatness: Hannah Sack

October 21, 2026

Congratulations to High School East’s Hannah Sack on being named a Coca-Cola Scholars Program Semifinalist!

One of the nation’s largest corporate-sponsored, achievement-based scholarship programs, the Coca-Cola Scholars Program recognizes students for their academic excellence, leadership and commitment to service. Out of more than 113,000 applicants nationwide, just 1,227 students earned this prestigious honor!

“I am truly honored to be named a Coca-Cola Scholars semifinalist,” Hannah shared. “I am grateful to the teachers, mentors, and family members who have supported and encouraged me along the way. I am excited to continue in the competition and thankful to have my efforts recognized alongside those of so many accomplished students.”

Hannah’s dedication to service is evident throughout the Smithtown community. From volunteering at town events and serving on the Smithtown Youth Board to supporting patients at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, she continually looks for ways to make a difference. Her interests in environmental science and community health even inspired her to establish Smithtown East’s first rain garden!  Hannah has also pursued clinical research at Stony Brook University.

“Balancing rigorous coursework with these commitments has pushed me to grow as a student and find meaningful ways to apply what I learn beyond the classroom,” Hannah said.

Hannah now advances to Phase 2 of the application process, which requires essays, a recommendation letter and a transcript. From the 1,227 semifinalists, just 250 will be selected by an independent selection committee for online interviews.

Way to go, Hannah!
