Gratitude for our Vets

St. James Elementary School Principal, Adam Javidi, held the school’s second annual “Gratitude Celebration” on Monday, inviting veterans who are family members, neighbors and friends of our students and staff. The veterans were treated to a breakfast courtesy of the school PTA and songs and poems from students.

"At St. James, we practice saying YES by asking ourselves: are you taking care of Yourself, Each other, and St. James?" Javidi said. "Children, the veterans you see here are the ultimate examples of saying YES. They were ordinary people who heard the call to service and answered it, taking the ultimate step of taking care of their country."

Every second grade student made a clay ornament to gift to a veteran to show their appreciation of all that they’ve done for our country.  Thank you to second grade teachers, Juliet Adams, Kristen Donnelly, Theresa Cotignola, Lisa Mozian and Lauren Kaufman!
