Future Focus at Great Hollow
In anticipation of College Day, Great Hollow Middle School students and staff proudly continued a longstanding tradition by wearing college gear and sharing their personal college journeys.
As in years past, a special bulletin board showcased photos and stories of faculty and staff during their college years, offering students a glimpse into their teachers’ paths beyond high school. In classrooms, teachers spent time discussing their own college experiences, helping to spark meaningful conversations about future possibilities.
Adding to the excitement, admissions representatives from LIU, Stony Brook, and The College of New Jersey visited during lunch periods to connect with eighth grade students and answer questions about campus life, academics, and the admissions process.
The goal of College Day is to inspire students and build excitement about the opportunities that await after high school.
“Our teachers truly enjoyed reflecting on their college days and sharing their experiences with students,” said Assistant Principal Jonathan Macaluso. “Our students equally valued the opportunity to hear those stories and to speak directly with college representatives.”
