From classroom to contest: Vote for Mrs. Porter

April 20, 2026

Nesaquake Middle School 6th-grade teacher, Sue Porter, has been selected as a finalist for the Teachers Federal Credit Union (TFCU) Teacher Appreciation Week Contest!

Principal Dan McCabe nominated Mrs. Porter for this award because of the "impact she has on our students." Mrs. Porter now needs our community's votes and support to win a grant of up to $2,500 in the Grades 6-8 category!

As highlighted by TFCU on their voting page, Mrs. Porter is recognized as the "heartbeat of our school." She creates a classroom rooted in empathy, high expectations, and student confidence. Through individualized support and growth-focused assessment practices, she helps our 6th graders overcome anxiety and view mistakes as vital opportunities to learn. Beyond the classroom, she leads our inclusive Nesaquake Middle School Talent Show, uniting students, families, and staff in a wonderful celebration of community.

Her commitment to innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning makes a lasting impact on every student she serves, and now it is our turn to show our appreciation!

Public voting is open online this week HERE.
