For the love of reading

March 14, 2024

Students at Dogwood Elementary School were treated to an amazing week of activities and guest speakers to foster a love of reading!

Today, Assistant Superintendent for Personnel, Neil Katz, stopped by Mrs. Mass' kindergarten class to read the book, “Pete the Cat and the New Guy”

PARP week was filled with many activities and events all organized to foster a love of reading! The week began with a visit from author David Adler sponsored by the Dogwood PTA.

In addition, many students chose to participate in the schoolwide Literacy Fair by reading a book of their choosing and creating a project depicting story elements highlighting the characters, setting, theme or their favorite part of the story.

Dogwood students presented their projects to peers who toured the Literacy Fair throughout the week. Students had a goal of reading 15, 000 minutes which they are on their way to not only meeting but exceeding!
