First "On Target" of 2026!

"They are the ones who work hard and never give up...they are the ones who stand up for what's right...they are the students who notice when someone is alone."

Those were the words of Tackan Elementary School Principal Matt Furey, as he proudly praised his young students this past Friday, honoring them with Tackan Elementary's "On Target" award.

The award doesn't have specific requirements in regards to academics, rather it is given to outstanding students who demonstrate determination, kindness, courage, intelligence and empathy towards their classmates.

Students were nominated by their teachers for the award and were given a certificate, a pencil, and an Italian ice!
