East students explore the truth about Quantum Computing
Smithtown High School East Science Research students recently attended an inspiring lecture by renowned computer scientist and quantum computing expert Scott Aaronson at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University.
As part of the Della Pietra Lecture Series, students explored “The TRUTH About Quantum Computing,” gaining insight into the fascinating world of quantum mechanics and its groundbreaking applications in computing.
Despite the demands of AP week, students took time to engage in this enriching academic experience and had the exciting opportunity to meet Mr. Aaronson following the lecture, where he enthusiastically answered their questions.
Science Research Coordinator Ms. Zeitlin shared, “It is so important for students to be exposed to current research at the collegiate level, and we are so fortunate to have open lectures at Stony Brook University which sponsors cutting-edge scientific endeavors.”
