Jolene Cao from High School East and Heng Ye from High School West recently received the STANYS Outstanding Science Student Award. Jolene and Heng were among 19 winners from Suffolk County including the very brightest and most impressive students in the county.
"Her independence is unmatched, and she has presented at conferences and been published. Academically I have never had such a talented student, and she has the intellectual ability of a seasoned graduate student.", says Ms. Maria Zeitlin of Jolene.
"Heng is always doing these things that are fascinating, and I was unaware high school students could even participate in. He presents at conferences and symposiums I thought were limited to professionals." says Mr. Brian Snyder about Heng.
Jolene Cao was a Regeneron STS Finalist and received Honors recognition for her Chemistry Olympiad success and will be attending Harvard University in the fall. Heng Ye was a Congressional App Challenge winner and National Merit Scholar and will be attending MIT in the fall.
