September 17 is designated as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787.
Throughout the SCSD, elementary classroom teachers and secondary social studies teachers recognized the day through classroom lessons and/or activities.
Kindergarten students at Mt. Pleasant Elementary signed their classroom constitution "rules" today.
The rules included following their teacher's directions, and to be kind to others.
