Congratulations, Dr. Paplin!

The Smithtown Central School District is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Kelly Paplin as the new Assistant Principal of Nesaquake Middle School! 

After 26 years of inspiring students and supporting colleagues across our district, Dr. Paplin begins this exciting new chapter with a wealth of experience, compassion and leadership. Since joining Smithtown in 2000, she has taught at Dogwood Elementary School in grades 1, 3 and 5, spent seven years in an inclusion co-teaching classroom, earned her doctorate in educational administration, and most recently served as an SEL Instructional Specialist, helping foster the social and emotional well-being of students and staff.

"I truly believe our neighborhood schools are the heart of the Smithtown community," said Dr. Paplin. "When our students feel safe, seen, and supported, they are truly empowered to learn and achieve."

Dr. Paplin says she’s not only excited to reunite with her former elementary students and families, but also is looking forward to working with new teachers. “I feel liked I’ve given so much of my career to students and now I get the opportunity to help teachers as well and that’s something that’s a passion of mine."
