Cleared for Takeoff: Future pilots in action
The PLTW Flight and Space, class taught by Mrs. Caputo is reaching new heights! Students are currently hands-on with our new drone unit, assembling mini drones and mastering the art of flight.
Beyond the excitement of flying, students are acting as real-world pilots by logging their flight time and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise. This unit challenges them to apply their problem-solving skills and their understanding of the four forces of flight to ensure a successful mission.
Additionally, students are exploring the diverse applications of drone technology in modern industry and learning the steps necessary to attain their recreational drone license. It is an exciting time to be an engineer at Great Hollow!
The PLTW Flight and Space course is an elective option offered through the Technology department for students in Grade 7.
