The Smithtown Mechanical Bulls received the Judges Award. This award is given to teams that stand out for their unique efforts, performance, and team dynamics during the competition. They were highlighted due to their outreach within the community, state and globally. Inga Sokolov, a sophomore from High School East, was named the FIRST Leadership Award Finalist (formerly named the Dean’s List Finalist Award). This award recognizes students who demonstrate strong leadership, meaningful contributions to their team and community, and a commitment to FIRST’s core values. She will be advancing to Houston Texas to be honored at the FIRST World Championship. This is an unprecedented fifth year in a row that the team has had a student win this award. No other team in FIRST Robotics history has done this.
