Over the last 28 years business students from both Smithtown High Schools have been tasked with creating marketing campaigns, new products, eco-friendly businesses and imagining the 21st century classroom. This year’s theme was “Smithtown Toys for Tots” and the students did not disappoint.

The students had to design and market a new toy for a child under the age of 12. There were over 200 students who competed from Smithtown High School East and West with over 52 teams representing the schools.

The first place group consisted of Smithtown East students Sophia Giglio, Caileigh Harrigan & Tori Geyer.
CTE Director Christine LoFrese and High School West principal John Coady began the night by congratulating the students on their hard work and business plans.

The eight finalists presented their plans “Shark Tank”-style in front of judges as well as in front of other students and family members.
Students from both Smithtown High Schools had advanced to the finals by previously competing virtually against other teams.
‘Kindness Kraze” was chosen by a group of judges from the Smithtown IAB, School Administration and faculty.

More than 50 judges volunteered to take part in the event.
Special thanks to IAB Executive Director Phil Como for all of his efforts in making this event a success.
