Beyond the stars
High School East junior, Sophia Leodis, has received Honorable Mention in the High School Category of the Walt Whitman poetry contest.
Sophia was tasked, in 30 lines or less, to use her poetic voice to tell us what she imagines is beyond the stars.
“Explore your individualized experience with nature. Dive into ways that your experiences have shaped your understanding of the world around you. And, of course, don’t forget to include the contradictions, the oddities, imperfections that are YOU!”
