Behind the scenes look!

October 24, 2025

The cast at High School East have been working very hard to put on this week’s production of, The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. But let’s give a shout out to the spectacular crew behind the scenes that made the show go off smoothly!

“Comedy in theater is so difficult to pull off at a high level because it’s all about timing," said teacher and advisor, Matt Hennings. " We have almost as many crew members for this show as we do cast members, and they’re all working together like a well-oiled machine to deliver joke after joke.”

Senior Mickey Fasciano is the Audio Director, which is no small feat in the new High School East auditorium.

“I turn on the mics and measure the audio for different people,” Mickey said. “People are naturally louder than others so that can be challenging managing the sound…and also just generally learning the system was quite a bit of a challenge.”

Sophomore Kayleigh McFaul is the prop manager and works with co-prop manager, Lily Lieberman to gather and make props and organize them for the cast members. Senior Kirk Pfitzer is the lighting director, with sophomore Allison Song working alongside as Kirk’s assistant.

Finally, Senior Mia Bergen has stepped up and taken the reins of the brand new Set Backdrop Coordinator position, and keeps the show flowing and on a good comedic pace.

“This particular year is unique in that there are no seniors in the cast, but there are several in the crew," Hennings said. "They have been working so hard over the last four years and watching them behind the scenes of their final performances is always so bittersweet.”

There are two more shows of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, Friday and Saturday night at 7pm at High School East!
