The future looks bright thanks to our SCSD business students!  The Smithtown School of Business recently hosted its premiere event, the 31st annual Business Olympics, at High School West.

Under the direction of CTE Director, Christine LoFrese, the students were tasked with creating marketing campaigns, new products, eco-friendly businesses and imagining the 21st century classroom. This year's Business Olympics theme was, "Back to the Future," as student teams had to create a marketing campaign for a currently defunct company and reimagine it.

There were over 200 students who competed from Smithtown High School East and West.

Special thank you to Mrs. LoFrese for leading this tremendous event! A round of applause, as well, for the 90 judges between the preliminary and final round of competition, composed of members of the Smithtown Industry Advisory Board, Central Administration, Building Administration and the Board of Education. In addition, our IAB Partners were very generous and provided sponsorships so prizes were provided to all the winning teams. As always, thank you to IAB Executive Director, Phil Como, for his countless hours of work and dedication. This event showcases the authentic learning experiences the School of Business provides to our students. A special thank you to Jason Pettis, Assistant Principal of HSE and Lenore Paprocky, IAB Business Co-Chair for providing remarks during the competition.
