Annual "Egg Drop" STEM event at Mt. Pleasant
The 25th annual 5th grade "Egg Drop" at Mt. Pleasant Elementary was another "eggscellent" adventure in STEM experience!
Sudents got creative by designing & making a container for an egg to survive a drop from more than 25 feet in the air!
This event originated from the minds of teachers Mr. Castigliolo and Mr. Faragasso a quarter of a century ago!
This STEM (science, technology, engineering & mathematics) project was fun for all. Thank you to our local Smithtown Fire Department for helping launch our eggs.
In the end, 16 out of 74 eggs made it without a crack!
