We’re celebrating Music In Our Schools Month at Accompsett Middle School by recognizing some of our outstanding student musicians!

Over the past month, 24 Accompsett students showcased their talents and represented their school with pride through their acceptance to and participation in the Long Island String Festival Association (LISFA) orchestras, the Suffolk County Music Educators Association (SCMEA) honor ensembles, and SCMEA Day of Horn Festival.

Shekinah Brosnan, Chorus Teacher and Instructional Specialist at AMS, has high praise for these young musicians. “Their participation is a testament to the talent, skill, and work ethic present in the AMS music department," Brosnan said. "I know I speak on behalf of all of my colleagues when I say that we truly appreciate our students’ excellence in performance, dedication to their craft, as well as their leadership in the classroom. Also, even with so many students accepted, I love that this is still only a small facet of the robust Fine Arts program we provide here in Smithtown, and we sincerely appreciate the continued support of Mr. Dolan, Dr. Bartnicki, and our Fine Arts Director, Victoria Hartman, whose efforts allow us to continue upholding musical excellence every year.”
