2026 High School West Gold Cord ceremony

“You have accomplished something truly significant, and today we celebrate not only what you have achieved, but the bright futures that lie ahead for each of you.

Those were the words of Smithtown High School West Principal, William Holl, as he addressed Gold Cord recipients and their families at Wednesday’s ceremony.

Gold Cord is awarded to seniors who have maintained an outstanding cumulative 4.0 GPA for four consecutive years. Students who reach an even higher academic milestone, achieving a 4.4. GPA or higher are specifically recognized as earning a "Gold Cord with Distinction." 

Principal Holl presented the gold cords, which the students will wear at graduation.

Also on hand to celebrate the students were High School West Assistant Principals Scott Johnson, Kristen Schnall, and Derek Solomon.

Each guidance counselor announced the students, looked back at their most memorable high school moments and announced their future college plans.
